This novel continues the story of Andrea Bradford after she marries Dan Jamison in A Water Lily Blooms. It centers on the lives of their three daughters, Leana, Nicole, and Danielle, who each must navigate the rocks and shoals of their education and goals and, of course, relationships along the way. Each daughter has her own path she wants to take in life. Leana trains to be a concert pianist, Nicole aspires to be a legal advocate for black people; Danielle loves children and returns to Martha’s Vineyard to be partners in a childcare center there.
